Description:
Responsibilities Under general supervision provides organizational and substantive support to litigation attorneys and senior paralegals, primarily in the areas of discovery, document management, pleadings, motions, trial preparation and investigation; assignments may extend into other practice areas. Responsible for ensuring client satisfaction is achieved throughout all position responsibilities. Case and Document Management 1. Manage assigned cases and their related tasks and projects. 2. Perform full range of litigation paralegal tasks from case inception through discovery process, trial, post-trial proceedings and case closure. 3. Apply in-depth legal knowledge, skills and experience to management of cases and performance of tasks. 4. Assist attorneys in ensuring that all documentation associated with a case, such as correspondence, pleadings, document productions, research files, e-mails, etc., is filed as appropriate. 5. Assist with the organization of case rooms to ensure that all materials are identified with client matter number and other key information. Discovery 1. Discovery Requests: Assist in responding to discovery requests; assist attorneys with document production; perform document review and organization; number, index and make arrangements for copying or scanning and page checking copies; coordinate documents produced with document management systems; may help analyze and summarize documents. 2. Law and Motion: Assist with preparation of pleadings and other dispositive motions. Duties include cite checking, Shepardizing, organizing exhibits, and filing with courts. 3. Depositions: Prepare notices and subpoenas as assigned. Prepare witness files; assemble potential deposition exhibits; responsible for reproduction and management of exhibits.  Trial Preparation 1. Prepare issue files and document chronologies. 2. Assist in selecting and assembling potential trial exhibits; assist in preparation of charts, graphs and other demonstrative evidence. 3. Prepare witness files, including assistance in the preparation of direct and cross-examination as assigned. 4. May assist in preparing pre and post trial motions and briefs, including cite checking, Shepardizing and compiling appendices. 5. Coordinate off-site facilities and support personnel as needed. 6. Coordinate activities with court personnel and court reporters as needed. 7. Provide support during trial and assist in post-trial activities as needed. Investigation, Research, Monitoring and Factual Analysis: 1. Trace documents and other physical evidence; locate witnesses. 2. Conduct factual research; examine public records; monitor legislative and administrative proceedings as assigned. 3. Review, summarize and analyze evidentiary material. 4. Prepare fact memoranda. 5. Coordinate investigative activities with private investigators as directed. Administrative Functions 1. Complete and release timenotes on a daily basis and time sheets on a weekly basis. 2. Ensure that minimum billable hours expectation is met, working with manager and attorneys to seek out additional work as necessary.
Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree and strong academic record.

2. Minimum three years of experience in a law firm as a litigation paralegal is required
