Responsible for leading development, acquisition and/or operation of SAP technologies, including ECC and BI across multiple departments, business or service units. Also responsible for leading selection, development and implementation of innovative, technology-based SAP solutions. Responsibilities include SAP software installation, SAP and related software upgrades, SAP environment management including daily operations, maintenance and discretionary project work, SAP system sizing, development & enhancement of SAP processes, such as transport strategy, authorizations and client strategy. Responsibilities include pro-actively maintaining the infrastructure as well as identifying and implementing technical enhancements to the SAP systems, for example, Solution Manager usage. Responsibilities include governing primary service provider resources, both onshore and offshore. Work will require close collaboration and coordination with the SAP development team and the SAP functional analysis team as well as other IT teams including Unix, Network, Enterprise Architecture, Application Support and Project Management Office teams. For discretionary projects, responsibilities include identifying and executing all relevant work packages for Basis tasks. These work packages include scope, resources, schedule & budget. Work packages include, but not limited to, system setup, authorizations and transports. ÔDaily monitoring of the system, including but not limited to dump analysis, job termination, system log review, space utilization Ô2nd level support for all SAP Basis incidents ÔPeriodic monitoring of tasks and system checks, i.e. performance optimization, system tuning ÔJob and batch processing management - both initial creation and maintenance ÔSecurity management - definition of technical roles; creation and maintenance of user roles and technical roles ÔTransport management - configuration and maintenance of the transport system across all SAP systems as well as procedure definition ÔPrinter and spooler management ÔBackup management using Tivoli Storage Management ÔMaintenance of the SAP Support Portal, i.e. open service connections, plan & schedule Early Watch ÔOracle database administration, i.e reorganization, space management, upgrades, patches ÔImplementation of support packages, OSS Notes, 3rd party tools, SAPGUI ÔEvaluation and implementation of new SAP tools ÔIdentify and execute work packages for Basis team for any SAP discretionary projects ÔManage SAP Solution Manager, including system monitoring, and expansion of services ÔInstallation and setup of all SAP software ÔSAP Landscaping planning and maintenance, i.e. instance strategy, client strategy ÔClient administration including client creation, client copy, client deletion

Technical Knowledge/Experience: ? Netweaver for both Java and ABAP stacks ? Installations and administration of ECC, PI, EP, BI, CE instances, etc. ? Solution Manager and the tools included in Application Lifecycle Management ? Upgrade and patch management ? System monitoring and troubleshooting ? Job management ? Oracle database administration ? Security authorization and role management ? Unix or Linux experience ? 5 - 7 years SAP Basis administration. Experience in non-SAP technology. ? Maintaining a sound production environment while at the same time participating in multiple discretionary projects with varying degrees of complexity ? Staying abreast of new developments in SAP technology in order to provide the best solutions in a cost effective manner ? Strong communication skills, both written & verbal and active listening traits ? Strong analytical and problem solving skills ? Working close with the SAP application development team and SAP functional analysts. ? Working with primary service provider in an onshore / offshore model. ? College degree preferred.
