Description:
The position has the responsibility of the day-to-day IT Operational activities in the New York office.  Immediate direct reports are the two IT Infrastructure Analysts.  Position is also required to function as a hands-on high-level network operations resource, to supplement the overall strength of the Infrastructure team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  "Essential functions" are primarily job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation made by the employer.  Essential duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day infrastructure operations of the New York IT department, including support activities, project management and deployments;  ensure that staffing needs are identified and addressed for day-to-day operations and project-driven needs.
  • Serve as a backup to the Senior IT Manager as top-level technical and administrative contact for all IT-related matters in the New York office.
  • Ensure full compliance of the Infrastructure team with established Firm procedures for service support and change, problem and escalation management;  become familiar with and enforce effectively the Firms implementation of ITIL and ISO27001 standards and procedures.
  • Ensure the highest level of customer service quality and adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for customer response, follow-up and outage response and resolution;  review customer service feedback surveys and comments and provide high-level responses in coordination with the IT Management Team.
  • Facilitate the communication with and education of IT personnel through recurring update meetings, team meetings and project status meetings;  facilitate ongoing technical briefings to ensure that all IT staff are current on existing and new technology.
  • Collaborate with the other support departments in the New York office to ensure the most effective delivery of service and support to all firm personnel.
  • Collaborate and closely integrate with the Global IT team. Provide thought leadership and contribute to the enforcement of global technical standards.
  • Measure performance of the Infrastructure team, produce performance reviews and development plans.
  • Ensure the stability and reliability of all IT technical operations, including (but not limited to):  phone system and telecommunications, Internet access, user remote access, network infrastructure, server hardware and software, backups, Data-room management and security management.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a law firm (3-5 years preferred);  minimum 3 years managing or supervising staff.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a senior administrator role in an environment utilizing current Microsoft server and e-mail operating systems and Cisco infrastructure. 
  • In depth knowledge of VMWare 4.1 is a must.
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows 2003/2008, MSSQL 2005, Exchange 2010, Citrix CSG, Citrix Xenapp Server version 5 and UP, Cisco Call manager 7 and at  least 1 major document management system if a must.
  • Knowledge of Litigation support technologies, MS SCCM, Carpe Diem, NetBack-up and firewall technologies is a plus.
  • Experience with modern technology quality control processes.
  • Advanced understanding of law firm or professional services support is preferred, including the relationship between IT and Litigation/Practice support services.
  • Experience  with space project planning (particularly relating to IT facilities such as server rooms and IDF/MDF locations ) and office expansion projects is preferred.
  • Four-year college degree preferred (Computer Science degree is a plus).
