The information architecture will contain both SAP and non-SAP data repositories.  The architect will be responsible for the design, creation, and implementation of databases and metadata structures.  Through collaboration with other key technical resources, the Enterprise Data Architect will establish appropriate technical standards and governance procedures.  He/She will also conduct project reviews for standard compliance.   Specific Responsibilities:

• Creation of the future state, enterprise model of information architecture and roadmap incorporating both SAP and non-SAP data structures.
• Provide expert advice on the selection, design, and deployment of appropriate data technologies and tools.
• Development of technical standards for data repositories, metadata, data modeling, and tools.
• Provide leadership in the establishment of data governance.  Providing recommendations on operating model and appropriate review committees.
• Support to project teams on data architecture, modeling, tools, and standards.
• Provide strategies and alternatives for meeting business data requirements.
• In conjunction with other architects, application teams, and business units designs an enterprise integration architecture.  For the data component, provide practical experience and thought leadership into the design of a framework for different integration use cases.
• Provide technical expertise overseeing the integration architecture.  Hands on experience in different integration techniques, e.g. SOA, ETL, ESB, Data Virtualization / Semantic Layer
• Ensure implementation of appropriate business intelligence strategies to drive high quality and sustainable solutions (including analytics, ad-hoc reporting, pre formatted reporting, management dash boards, information broadcasting and strategic planning solutions).
• Responsible for outlining the methods and processes used to translate reporting requirements into a solution and relevant data flow architecture. Focused on designing a global solution that provides some global standardization of key performance indicators measures while providing local country flexibility.
• Resolve technical problems which may arise in implementation
• Ensure performance, availability, and scalability of implemented solutions.
• Provide strategic IT thought leadership.
• Coordination with offshore architectural resources.

• Prior experience as a Data Architect in a financial service company, preferably, insurance.

• Demonstrated experience in the development of technical architecture roadmaps and blueprints leading to the successful implementations.

• Deep expertise in application, data and technical architectures.
• Multidimensional modeling and data warehousing concepts and methodologies, along with an understanding of the differences between operational systems data modeling and data warehouse data modeling.
• Expertise in ETL and reporting tools.

• Experience with SAP BW, preferred.
