Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Audio Visual Specialist will provide audiovisual and IT services, maintain audiovisual equipment, recommend innovative solutions and document related procedures. Proactively and efficiently handle multiple complex assignments, manage shifting priorities, and still remain deadline oriented.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Test, set up, and resolve critical technical issues during:
- Client and internal meetings that require video or audio conferencing, digital presentations, other audiovisual components, or computer technical support.
- Employee training sessions that involve setup and removal of ad hoc training rooms with workstations, projection or video recording/playback.
- Evening receptions, charity events, alumni and new associate gatherings, and annual firm-wide events that utilize background music, microphones, lighting adjustments and video streaming.
- On-site depositions and arbitrations that require audiovisual presentation, video archiving, or technical support for material and expert witnesses, judges, visiting attorneys, and court appointed staff.
- Formal speeches, panel discussions, publicized interviews and other VIP speaking engagements that call for presentation services and guidance on event staging.
- Off site event support that requires coordination of AV services.
Use, maintain, troubleshoot, and provide basic repair for:
- Portable and built-in videoconference equipment.
- Built-in speakerphones, portable Polycom units and voice amplification systems.
- Digital projectors, overhead projectors and document cameras.
- Crestron touch panels.
- Remotely controlled cameras, video and audio matrix switchers and control software.
- Portable screens, built-in rear and front projection screens, LCD display monitors.
- Built-in, boundary, and handheld microphones, lavalier microphones and receivers.
- Overhead speakers, portable speakers, stereo systems, headphones and recorders.
- TVs, VCRs, DVD players, and camcorders.
- Cable television and desktop television transmission.
- Laser pointers, wireless presentation mice, universal remote controls.
IT Technical Support and Duties
- Offer IT Support for conference room attendees.
- Loan out and set up printers, fax machines, and laptops for short-term use.
- Support related software, ex. PowerPoint, iManage, Lotus Notes and Windows Media Player.
- Set up and break down ad hoc computer/laptop workstations and training areas.
- Maintain audiovisual stock and offer assistance with hardware inventories.
- Verify and enter data, run reports in ESP2000 conference reservation system.
- Assist the IT Hardware group with computer, laptop, printer, and monitor rollouts.
- Hook up and configure Internet connections, including innocuous changes to computer settings, advice in reaching external VPNs, utilization of LAN hubs, and patching of additional connections in network closets as needed.
Design innovative solutions via detailed documentation, training, and implementation:
- Create and update process documents, evaluation reports, and technical papers.
- Provide suggestions to management on process or configuration improvements.
- Develop and implement procedures; offer interdepartmental training as appropriate.
- Research and recommend purchases to maintain and improve audiovisual services.
- Prepare weekly reports to document issues, assess departmental needs and requests, address technical and process questions and evaluate progress for ongoing projects.
Requirements:
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- College degree preferred
- Five to seven years of experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under time pressures
- Ability to work independently and determine priorities
- Ability to establish and meet deadlines
